Ten years after I quit the business trying to do it the way the INDUSTRY said, I decided to start from scratch and build a business the way I learned OUTSIDE of the industry.
They said, “You can’t grow a planning business exclusively for million dollar clients from scratch.”
Research Magazine published an article, Profiles In Success, about my planning business in 2003, reporting, “Eight years ago, financial advisor Scott Keffer had no clients and no firm – just a crazy idea to start up a practice that catered only to millionaires. Today, Keffer, the founder of Wealth Transfer Solutions in Pittsburgh, has 65 clients [yes, millionaires], and he’s adding 15 to 20 new ones a year.”
In 2010, I decided to create my own Advisor Boot Camp and start an advisor coaching and training business from scratch.
